TL; DR The Quick Guide
- Do your prep - PM interviews all tend to follow a number of patterns. You can both learn techniques for standard types of questions and have good examples mined from your past at your fingertips.
- Don’t psych yourself out - You can’t read every book, prepare every question, watch every video on how to crack the interview. Do a sensible amount of work, sleep well the night before, and make sure you walk in the room (real or virtual) feel ready to impress.
- Learn from rejection - even if the ultimate lesson is that this isn’t for you.

Resources: The best stuff for interview preparation
I’ve kept this list pretty lean for now - partly because I don’t want to psych you out! The big question: Is it worth paying for a course / coach to help you with this? Well, it’s not necessary, but especially if you lack a PM friend or mentor, and if you can afford it, it might be well worth the investment, but only after you’ve done your core research into the PM role, and what they will be looking for.
